What's the deal with print on demand?

Hi friends, can you believe it’s November already?! Whew…I’m already seeing holiday commercials and it got me thinking about one of the biggest questions I get. “What’s the deal with print on demand?” Below, I’ll share a few things about this service that makes it a great option for me and for you.

Why I like Using Print on Demand services

No overstock. Your order is made right at the point of purchase. When I tour with my band, we buy t-shirts in bulk. That is great for being on the road as we have every size in big quantities but when we get home we’d have so many extra t-shirts left over. Some sell online but for the most part we are left with a lot of extra t-shirts for our friends and family.

Fulfillment from professionals. Everything from printing to packaging to delivery is carefully put together by a trusted warehouse to be sure your item arrives exactly how it was intended.

Testing. My favorite part is getting sample orders. I’m able to pick and choose from a wide variety of products for my specific Darren Vorel merch. Think bella canvas t-shirts vs fruit of the loom. There’s a difference in softness, fit, and so much more. I can test out a product and make sure it’s what I want to have representing my products and overall brand.

Original Photography. I dunno about you, but nothing really speaks to me about seeing a faked out mock up of someone wearing a design I’m interested in. I wanna see the real deal. Whenever possible, I set up a photoshoot of the items being worn by real people or myself. That way, you get a realistic example of how the item will look, fit, and feel.

Creative Ideas. Sometimes I’ll see a product in the warehouse that sparks an idea for a new t-shirt, mug, pint glass, or backpack. This is helpful for me because that creative spark doesn’t always come everyday. I look for inspiration everywhere and sometimes that’s in the form of a blank t-shirt just begging to be dressed up.

Pricing. One of the only cons with Print on demand is the pricing. All of these perks I mention come with a little extra price tag on the back end so I have to adjust my prices to make it work for me and for you. This is why you never see me run sales on merchandising items. It’s a delicate balance to keep the items affordable for you. I thought a job in art would mean I wouldn’t have to do any math…boy was I wrong!

All of this being said, I’d like to offer 20% Off my merchandising items for the FIRST TIME EVER. Today through tomorrow (11/4/24 - 11/5/24). If you’re getting this message, you are a wonderful reason why I keep moving forward and I’d like to make sure you get something for being here. Just use code 20OFFMERCH at checkout on t-shirts, mugs, glassware, tote bags, stickers, hats and more!

One last thing. I’ve opened up custom commissions for the holidays at new lower rates. If you’d like to check out the details. Just click on the link below.
